Live in Arizona? Need to get a passport? There a quite a few
locations where you can apply to get your travel document. Many of
Arizona's cities have an application acceptance facility. These
facilities are usually found in a local post office or county clerks
office. The application for a new passport (Form DS-11) must be signed
in the presence of an authorized agent at an application acceptance
office.
You can find a facility or two in the following Arizona
counties: Apache County, Cochise County, Coconino County, Gila County,
Graham County, Greenlee County, La Paz County, Maricopa County, Mohave
County, Navajo County, Pima County, Pinal County, Santa Cruz County,
Yavapai County, Yuma County.
If there is no passport application
acceptance facility in the county in which you live, check a neighboring
county. Maricopa County has, by far, the largest number of acceptance
facilities with over fifty. Most counties have five or more. Phoenix,
the state capital only has twenty-two. A couple of locations are as
follows.
Maricopa County Clerk of Superior Court (Phoenix)
601 West Jackson 1st floor
Phoenix, AZ 85021
Northeast Regional Court Center
18380 N 40th St. Suite 120
Phoenix, AZ 85032
When submitting Form DS-11 at an application
acceptance facility, you need to choose between regular processing or
expedited services. Your application will be processed in approximately 4
to 6 weeks for regular service. Your travel document should be
delivered in 2 to 3 weeks if you choose expedited service. There are
times that it can take longer to process applications. This usually
occurs during peak travel seasons and during changes in passport
requirements.
